Cheng Pei-Pei's early training was as a dancer. I recommend doing some reading on the subject. Try <A HREF="http://www.sensesofcinema.com/contents/directors/02/hu.html" REL="nofollow">Stephen Teo's article on King Hu at Senses of Cinema</A>. <BR/><BR/>Also the Weinsteins didn't do the restoration on the film. They licensed the restoration from Celestial Pictures, which has been working on restoring 760 of the Shaw Bros pictures starting around 2003 or so. These restorations have been licensed by a number of Region 1 distributors, including the Weinsteins.<BR/><BR/>Anyway, it certainly is a beautiful, vivid film, and the Dragon Dynasty disk looks great.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
